- Abstract
Background: Herbal medicines are safe with no side effects and have significant action against fungai and other microorganisms. Objectives: As per your suggestion we have reviewed the sentence as follows (This study was carried out to investigate the antifungal potentials of Talisadi Churna is an Ayurvedic medicine against Candida albicans, one of the medically important fungal strains and to determine the zone of inhibition). Materials and Methods: The antimicrobial activity was determined in the extracts using agar disk diffusion method. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of extracts (50, 75, and 100 μg/ml) of Talisadi Churna were tested against C. albicans, zone of inhibition of extracts was compared with that of a different standard, ciprofloxacin for antifungal activity. Results: The results showed that the remarkable inhibition of the fungal growth was shown against the tested organism. The microbial activity of the Talisadi Churna might be due to the presence of various secondary metabolites. Hence, these plants can be used to discover bioactive natural products that may serve as leads in the development of new pharmaceuticals research activities.
