- Abstract
The article evaluates meniscus allograft transplantation (MAT) as a treatment method for symptomatic patients after meniscectomy. It is said the aim of MAT is to reconstruct the load transmission system and to restore the normal kinematics of the knee joints. It notes that the surgery can be performed in both the medial and lateral menisci. The use of magnetic resonance imaging or arthroscopic surgery to evaluate objective results of MAT is also discussed.
