- Abstract
Examines a man with renal amyloidosis, nephrotic syndrome and chronic renal failure who had the features of the Fanconi syndrome and hyperchloremic acidosis associated with inappropriately alkaline urine and striking bicarbonaturia. Percentage of maximal renal tubular reabsorption of bicarbonate reduced; Percentage of tubular reabsorption of bicarbonate reduced at normal plasma bicarbonate concentrations; Factors that led to the impairment of renal bicarbonate reabsorption.
