Abstract
The article offers information on the training of forest rangers at Ta Phraya national park to cease the illegal poaching of Siamese rosewood trees in the eastern forests of Thailand. The author discusses the training exercises that rangers go through including training in self-defence, patrolling, and weapons and explosives identification. Details of forest ranger killing incidents from poachers and a brief information on the Siamese rosewood is also presented.
