The article discusses techniques for determining working length, for root canal system, which is defined as the distance from a coronal reference point to the point at which canal preparation and obturation should terminate. Topics include use of silicone stops as most common method of marking the instruments used for cleaning and shaping; use of clectronic apex locators for working length determination; and problems caused by the interaction of electronic apex.
