The article examines the trend in head office employment from 1999 to 2005 in Canada. The country's head office employment was concentrated in four major metropolitan areas including Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver. They made up 73 percent of the head office employment in 2005. The increase in the number of head offices in the country was attributed to the emergence of foreign-controlled companies.
