- Abstract
The article presents a literature review of the epidemiology of rheumatoid arthritis patients affected by oral bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaws (BRONJ). It includes the demographic, clinical and therapeutic aspects. An online search of PUBMED/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Cochrane was conducted. Women above 60 years taking steroids and long-term alendronate are affected. It mentions the antibiotic therapy, chlorhexidine and others to bring positive outcomes.
