- Abstract
Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is an important drug used in children because of its analgesic and antipyretic effects. It has a safety profile but high-dose administration can produce significant toxicity at risk of developing acute liver failure. The outcome depends on the timely recognition and starting specific therapeutic management. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is one of the most used drugs in children, due to the efficient analgesic and antipyretic effects. It has good safety profile, but in high doses may produce toxicity and the risk of developing acute liver failure. The prognosis depends largely on the early recognition and prompt implementation of specific therapeutic measures.
