Abstract
The article reports that the Institute for Animal Health has warned that bluetongue has become a greater risk to Great Britain, following a re-emergence of the virus on a previously infected German cattle farm. The author offers information about the historical background of the virus. Veterinary authorities have confirmed that the virus had spread to formerly bluetongue-free sentinel cattle.
