- Abstract
Reports that scientists at the Veterinary Laboratories Agency have informed the Great Britain Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs that a goat, confirmed as having scrapie in 1990, may have had bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). Diagnostic method used by the scientists to examine the goat; Detection of traits similar to samples from goats infected experimentally with BSE; Reason for the inability of the scientists to use rapid molecular methods.
