- Abstract
Bulk power systems are composed of hybrid transmission and distribution networks, while traditionally, transmission and distribution load shedding is studied and developed separately. In order to achieve a global consistent load shedding solution, the transmission and distribution networks are studied simultaneously in this paper. A novel master--slave-splitting (MSS) iterative method is developed for calculating large-scale and integrated load shedding (ILS) problem. In the MSS method, with introducing the boundary fictitious values, the ILS problem of large scale is split into a transmission load shedding and many distribution load shedding sub-problems of small scale. Numerical results on a sample transmission and distribution test network show the satisfactory of proposed approach.
