- Abstract
The article focuses on a study on the impact of remission induction chemotherapy (IC) on survival in older adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The study involved hundreds of patients who received an anthracyline-based regimen. These patients were matched with those who did not receive IC by a propensity analysis. The study found that not receiving IC was still associated with worse survival. In addition, improved outcomes in older adults with AML who undergo IC is suggested by the study.
