- Abstract
The article focuses on the findings of a study exploring the Master of Public Health (MPH) educator labor market in San Francisco, California. Majority of MPH health educators in the San Francisco Bay area work at local health departments and community-based organizations. Employers were surveyed on several topics including the number of MPH health educators on staff, hiring projections, and importance of selected competencies. The result of the survey showed that educational preparation was adequate, but the educators lacked bilingual competence. A favorable labor market for the MPH educators in the Bay area is proposed by the result.
