- Abstract
The article focuses on the Oriental Plane Tree (Platanus Orientalis) on the grounds of the Belfast City Hospital in Ireland. The seed of the tree was brought by Professor Dimitrios Oreopoulos from the island of Kos. The tree where the seed came from is said to be 500 years old, under which, according to tradition, Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, is said to have practice and taught. The article also details efforts to preserve the tree.
