- Title
Phototherapy: The Challenge to Accurately Measure Irradiance.
- Authors
VREMAN, HENDRIK J.
- Abstract
The author emphasizes the challenge in ensuring the accuracy of measuring irradiance level in phototherapy. He recommends the use of a calibrated spectrometer in assessing the energy distribution level across an in vivo action spectrum of photo-degradation of a bilirubin for a clinical situation wherein the irradiance levels are applied as a criterion for comparing lamps with various spectral emission. He emphasizes the need for the creation of an irradiance meter which provides precise irradiance measurement.
