- Authors
Smith, Devyn M.
- Abstract
The article examines the membership of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that includes the historical data and future projections and the leadership in the Church to determine the percentages of different ethnic groups in the Church. In 1980, the Church projected to have 11.14 million members in 2000 including 3,600 stakes, 460 missions and 29,000 wards and branches. Given the large growth in ethnic minorities into the Church, it has encountered some of the problems and opportunities which are also discussed in the article.
