- Abstract
The article discusses strategies for special education teachers to work with paraprofessionals effectively. Teachers are advised to tell paraprofessionals their expectations regarding how paraprofessionals should behave towards students. When a paraprofessional stands with a student against the teacher, it is recommended that the teacher talk with the paraprofessional privately. Another recommendation is to consider the skills and interests of the paraprofessional and the needs of the student.
