- Authors
Pressey, Conrad C.
- Abstract
This article focuses on various publications of value to the teachers of general science in junior high schools. Teachers are usually interested in familiarizing themselves with content materials from various sciences as well as acquiring information about modern developments in science education. The journal "Science Education" began to abstract articles from educational magazines and popular science periodicals in May 1929. These abstracts are of considerable value to general science teachers because they cover a wide range of topics. The "Journal of Educational Research" carries each month a few abstracts in the field of science education. The periodical "Science Digest" abstracts articles of a popular nature. The section "Science Reading Materials for Pupils and Teachers" appears regularly in the journal "Science Education." An annual list of annotated selected references in secondary school science appears in the February issue of the journal "School Review." The book review section of the Sunday edition of the newspaper "The New York Times" is an outstanding source of reviews on the latest books on science.
