- Abstract
This article presents several essays that offer various interpretation of the survey data of the Western History Association (WHA). According to Michael J. Lansing and David Rich Lewis, the notion of conducting a survey of the membership of the WHA came out of two distinct impulses. One of these reasons is that they wanted to know where the publication stood in connection with the membership's expectations for a scholarly journal. Meanwhile, David Wrobel described the 2005 WHA Member Survey as reminiscent of Walter Nugent's survey of western historians. Deena J. González mentioned that the compiled data suggests a remarkable lack of diverse ethnicities.
