- Abstract
Iranian Prime Minister Muhammad Ali Foroughi announced on the evening of Wednesday, September 17, 1941, the decision to abdicate Reza Shah Pahlavi from the throne in favor of his son, Muhammad Reza Shah. Shah recited the constitutional oath in front of the National Assembly, and the Iraqi newspaper Al-Hawadith published the text of the oath that the Shah swore, who in turn promised internal reforms in Iran by enacting new laws in order to alleviate the suffering of the people of the country and improve their lives, in addition to negotiating with other countries and cooperating with them to solve Iran's problems and access to a state of stability.
