- Authors
DIFFEE, CHRIS
- Abstract
The article presents information on several cases of horseplay that encompassed sexual harassment as its main component, with special focus on offshore employment. It discusses several court cases in this context including the U.S. Supreme Court case of Oncale v. Sundowner Offshore Srvs., Inc, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit case of Giddens v. Shell Oil Co., and Fourth Circuit case of McWilliams v. Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. In Giddens case, Richard Giddens was sexually harassed by co-workers Jack Tucci and Craig Harner. It also sheds light on the cultural work of normalization in context to gay harasser, which manifests that since they are served from power, hence are not able to do cultural work of normalization.
