The results of two- and three-dimensional numerical calculations are presented for a steel ball penetrating (i) into a continuous aluminum plate and (ii) into a plate with a longitudinal channel modeling the state of a material resulting from interference of the unloading waves. The data confirm efficiency of the interference mechanism of the action of a flux of solid particles upon an obstacle.
