- Abstract
The aims of this study were to investigate the infestation level of field crops by Ambrosia artemisiifolia (L.) in all production regions in Slovakia. The Ambrosia infestation was evaluated from 1997 till 2006 and 2008 in the Slovak Republic, by standard methods used by EWRS (numerous methods per square meter). The results of the weed survey on arable land conducted in 1997-2008 were applied to assess the distribution and occurrence of common ragweed in the fields situated in maize, sugar beat and potato production regions of Slovakia. In integrated systems, weed control techniques have used chemical treatments and cultural methods. According to the achieved results it is evident, that the infestation level of field crops by Ambrosia artemisiifolia is higher especially in maize production region in the fields of maize and sunflower and in the stubbles after cereals.
