- Title
STRATEGIC AIRLIFT IN ASIA - DEMAND KEEPS GROWING.
- Authors
Slocombe, Geoff
- Abstract
Strategic airlift is characterised as being high speed transport of personnel, materiel, weaponry, helicopters and land vehicles over great distances in response to military causes or humanitarian crises. This is in contrast to tactical airlift, which is typically used within a theatre of operations over shorter ranges at slower speeds with lesser loads. One thing being discovered by almost all countries in Asia is that you cannot have too much of it, either for military or Humanitarian and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations.
