- Abstract
The article focuses on a scheme by health visitors in Swansea, Wales to bring up babies speaking both English and Welsh. Health workers visit mothers and distribute Twf packs with compact discs (CDs) of songs and books. The project was nominated in the Welsh Language in Healthcare Awards of the British National Health Service (NHS). Meg Cairns, west team area co-ordinator for health visitors, noted that receptive language develops as early as seven months.
