- Abstract
The article reports on the creation of the Mental Retardation Joint Agencies Project in Los Angeles County, California, to meet more adequately and efficiently the needs of mentally retarded children in the area. It is aimed to create an effective instrumentality for improved planning, development and coordination of services to these children. Various measures were taken to accomplish its objectives, including a research program, the development of Joint Powers Agreement, and the establishment of a Mental Retardation Service Board.
