- Title
The New Inflation: Causes, Effects, Cures.
- Authors
Johnson, Dudley D.
- Abstract
Professor Bach proposes to examine the causes, effects and cures of inflation within a context broadened to include political and ethical considerations in addition to economic ones. The expanded context is, however, not utilized to any great extent. Moreover, when socio-political arguments are introduced they, like those presented within a purely economic context, lack analytical consistency and rigor. The tone of the book is perhaps best captured by Bach's comment at the end of the Chapter 2 which states, "This chapter has summarized without evaluation some of the major effects of moderate inflation on the American economy" (p. 36).
