- Abstract
For example, one health fact states,"without treatment, HIV attacks the immunesystem leading to cancers and other healthproblems"--information aimed at increasingawareness about the impact of HIV on othertypes of health problems (NIH, 2013). During the interviews, many participantsidentified HIV health information asthe most relevant component of the intervention,raising awareness about health risks. In fact, the health information componentof the app-based intervention was associatedwith decisions to change behaviors relatedto reducing HIV risk and the need for HIVtesting.
