- Abstract
The study examines the risk of side effects in older people with complex health needs who start antihypertensive therapy. Within the first 30 days of starting the therapy, there is an increased risk of falls, fractures, and acute kidney failure. Particularly vulnerable age groups are affected by severe side effects. The study recommends careful consideration of the indication, cautious introduction of the medication, and regular monitoring of kidney values at the beginning of the therapy. The information is from the 10th edition of the Journal of General Medicine in 2024.
