- Title
Improving Hypertension Control Rates: Technology, People, or Systems?
- Authors
Jones, Daniel W.; Peterson, Eric D.
- Abstract
The author discusses issues related to whether home-based blood pressure (BP) monitoring and Internet based communication could facilitate a collaborative model of care and lead to improved hypertension control. Particular attention is paid to research published within this issue titled, "Effectiveness of Home Blood Pressure Monitoring, Web Communication, and Pharmacist Care on Hypertension Control." It is noted that the BP control method tested was not significantly higher than clinical care.
