- Title
Jet Lag Relief?
- Authors

- Abstract
This article reports on animal studies of the drug sildenafil. Research suggests that the erectile dysfunction drug may help recovery from jet lag and prevent health problems that result from shift work. Sildenafil works by interfering with cyclic guanine monophosphate, a molecule that is involved in a signaling pathway that helps regulate the body's circadian rhythm. The experiment with hamsters showed a benefit if they were awakened early but not if they were awakened late so the jet lag application would be for east-bound fliers only.
