- Abstract
The article presents information on the research work done on parents and children with anxiety. According to researchers' investigation in a pilot study, anxious children and their anxious parents may benefit from parent-only group therapy. The therapy is known as parent-only group cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). It has been found that though CBT treats anxiety effectively, many children cannot access it. The solution for this can be the use of parents as lay therapists to provide greater access to children whose families are financially unable to support mental health treatment.
