- Abstract
The purpose of this article is to discuss the origin of the Brazilian image construction as the continuity of an emotional and corrupt Portuguese who acquired the indolence of the Indians who in Brazil were becoming necessary to conceive the identity image that created the Brazilian national myth, under the baton of Portugal's largest bureaucratic heritage: patrimonialism. These false concepts are booming in Brazil through traditional media and digital media. This paper will take a special look at the role of Brazilian public opinion in recent decades, where the image of Brazil was built as a huge Portugal, and the Brazilian as a unique, patrimonial and corrupt being. This symbolic construction, which moralizes from Portugal a pseudo-image of the Brazilian will be presented from the perspective of conservative culturalism. From fashion to social and political values, the Brazilian moralist theme was able to lay the foundations for the return of authoritarianism, ironically, through universal suffrage.
