- Authors
Nelson, David B.; Spong, Catherine Y.
- Abstract
The author considers the California Maternity Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC) initiative to improve cesarean delivery rates for nulliparous, term, singleton, vertex (NTSV) births. Topics discussed include the lack of association between increase in cesarean delivery rates and maternal or neonatal morbidity or mortality, the importance of the use of relevant quality data in performance measures, and the necessity for education to reduce cesarean delivery rates for NTSV births.
