- Abstract
As mentioned by Bletscher in the introduction of the symposium, one opportunity to address these challenges faced by refugees is to develop community leaders, with effective leadership practices, who have the opportunity to influence the political, economic, and social outcomes of a community (Bletscher, [4]; Brown, [5]). One leadership practice that is especially critical for community leaders to effectively support the refugee population in their community is cultural humility. Since much of leadership theory is set from a western perspective, faculty can increase student awareness by exposing students to different perspectives around leadership development.
