- Abstract
The article presents a personal narrative which discusses the author's reactions to paintings by Indonesian artist Nyoman Masriadi and also a discussion of art in Seoul, Korea. The personal narrative discusses the 2009 painting "Master Yoga (Yoga Master)," the imagery and iconography of Masriadi's work, and black and white colors in his work. The discussion of art in Seoul, Korea, addresses urban transformation of the city and how it is treated by artists. Projects by Korean art collectives are described including "Drifting Producers" by flyingCity and "Seoul Tours" by Listen to the City. Other topics addressed include Korean artist Lee Bul, contemporary art museums in Seoul, and government support for art and artists in Seoul.
