- Abstract
The article explores the constructs of the mentor and mentorship through a popular culture perspective. It seeks answers as to what extent the teacher as mentor portrayed in popular film is a realistic image. A comparison will be made between the characteristics of mentors and the characteristics that the movie teachers display. The roles that both mentors and mentees play during a relationship can be identified through the three dimensions of mentoring.
