- Title
'Or both': A reply to Lajevardi on the alleged exclusivity of disjunction in English.
- Authors
Curtis, Benjamin L
- Abstract
The article discusses the interpretation of the inclusive and exclusive senses of the word "or" in natural language, focusing on the construction "A or B or both." Exclusivists, who interpret "or" exclusively, may find this construction problematic, but the author argues that exclusivists should allow for the possibility that the inclusive sense of "or" is used in certain cases, such as when the phrase "or both" is added.
