- Abstract
This article, titled "Gangs in the Bar: Hornets Enjoy Nectar and Hunting During Pollination," discusses a study conducted in the Nikko Botanical Garden in Japan. The study focuses on two species of Japanese Angelica plants that are predominantly visited by hornets, including the Asian giant hornet. The study found that the hornets were important pollinators for these plants but also observed that they hunted and killed other insects while enjoying the nectar. The article suggests that this behavior may contribute to the ecological specialization of hornet-pollinated Angelica species.
