- Title
Chogm 2009 and the 'wider Commonwealth summit': an outward-looking 'Commonwealth@60.'.
- Authors
McIntyre, W. David
- Abstract
The article presents comments on the Commonwealth summit in Port of Spain, Trinidad in November 2009. Compared with the Chogm Communique's 117, the Port of Spain Civil Society Statement was more hard-hitting and elaborate since it called for financial incentives to lower emissions and for deforestation to be reduced. Among others, it tackled issues on climate change, conflict and peace building, and democracy and governance.
