Keywords: iohexol; urine culture; urine osmolality; urine specific gravity EN iohexol urine culture urine osmolality urine specific gravity 167 169 3 04/09/20 20200301 NES 200301 CASE PRESENTATION A 10-year-old male Boxer dog was presented to the Veterinary Medical Centre at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine for a 1-month history of epistaxis and stertor. Osmolality was not measured on the patient's free-flow urine sample; however, osmolality was measured on the surrogate sample to compare to the cystocentesis sample. Despite the much higher USG in the cystocentesis sample, the osmolality was lower than in the surrogate sample, exemplifying how USG and osmolality can be disparate in the presence of iohexol.
