- Title
Strain recovery from metagenomes.
- Authors
Brown, C Titus
- Abstract
The article states that researcher B. Cleary and colleagues have described an automated computational procedure, latent strain analysis (LSA), to determine the genome sequence of entire microbial communities. It discusses the difficluty in assembling the genome of microbial species, and states that advancement in understanding nucleotide composition has simplified the gene editing process. It states that different microbial strains share large portions of their chromosomes and plasmids.
