- Abstract
The article looks at the political role and influence of think tanks in France. Among the ones discussed are the left-wing Fondation Terra Nova, the Institut Montaigne, the Fondation pour l'innovation politique, and the Fondation Ifrap, or the Foundation for Research on Administrations and Public Policy. Topics include their methods of communication and reliance on experts, the reception of such think tanks among the public, and the growing influence of think tanks in matters related to political agendas and the construction of programs by political parties such as the Socialist Party (PS) and the right-wing Union pour un mouvement populaire (Union for a Popular Movement, or UMP).
