- Abstract
The article discusses the challenge the three assumptions including contact with the court system, efficacy of restorative justice and juvenile involvement in crime that support juvenile justice in Australia. It further discusses the policy implications that might result from their abandonment. It also discusses ways to reform the juvenile justice policy by abandoning the three assumptions and paying attention to the evidence to reduce the risk of juvenile reoffending.
