- Title
CREATING PARALLELS IN THE REGULATION OF CONTENT: MOVING FROM OFFLINE TO ONLINE.
- Authors
Moses, Lyria Bennett
- Abstract
The article focuses on direct censorship of material that would be rated with Refused Classification (RC) as part of the internet filtering proposal in the Australian government. It shows the significance of offline and online parity for the past and proposed regulation of internet content. It suggests that before the implementation of a filtering scheme, the government must consider the viability of goals associated with content regulation and goals that have to be supported by Australians.
