- Abstract
The article reports that the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) issued a bulletin "Indirect Auto Lending and Compliance with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act" on March 21, 2013 that made auto financing a "fair lending enforcement target." The report noted a risk of pricing disparities in auto finance based on race and national origin prohibited by the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. Topics include laws on auto lending, obstacles to CFPD bulletin, and enforcement of the bulletin.
