Abstract
This article presents the judicial decisions in the court cases "U.S. v. Lophansky," and "McShann v. United States." In the first case, the court held that the act of taking mail matter which has been placed on and outside a letter box is not an offense. In the second case, the court held that it is punishable for an employee in the postal service to delay, detain, or open any letter intended to be conveyed by mail.
