- Abstract
This paper questions the notions of nationality and nationalism created through telluric metaphors and favours an idea of nationality as floating, relational and ambiguous space. From this perspective, we will read about César Vallejo and his life in Paris to analyse the effects of territorial displacement on his writing. Amid European interwar modernity, Vallejo lived a ‘cosmic' and ‘extraterritorial' life that allowed him to develop a singular perspective and to recover his native country through a group of metaphors in which landscape and all which is telluric return impregnated by Parisian magnetism.
