The article focuses on the discovery of gemstone occurrences in the basaltic fields of southeast Vietnam, specifically in Dong Nai and Ba Ria–Vung Tau provinces. Topics discussed include the characteristics and distribution of these gems, the unlicensed and artisanal methods of extraction by locals, and the economic potential of gemstones in southeast Vietnam, emphasizing the need for further research to assess available reserves.
