Bowel cancer patients should receive liver referral.
Abstract
The article discusses research on variation in referral practice for patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases. It references a study by A. L. Young and colleagues published in an issue of the "British Journal of Surgery." Results revealed that only a fifth of bowel cancer patients whose cancer had spread were referred to liver specialists and, only 75% of these patients were deemed fit for liver surgery.
